How we work

Rachel Chudley Interior Design works with clients in the UK and US on entire house or multiple house commissions.

As a bespoke studio that will never compromise on quality, we can only work with a handful of clients at once.

Projects are typically big undertakings and can often run over a year from inception to install, so a good fit between us and our clients is vital to the success of our projects.

The Rachel Chudley team work alongside architects and specialists to design every element of a project.

From secret turrets, laundry chutes or hidden rooms to completely bespoke furniture, reconfiguration of walls and floorplans - the more ambitious, the better.

We are passionate about helping clients create their dream home.

From inception to install

Following the first engagement, Rachel and a team member will come to view your property and discuss initial ideas, your likes, dislikes, your vision for the space and any structural work that needs to take place.

From this visit, the team will estimate a budget and timeframe for your project.

Once agreed the following process is undertaken:

Design concept services - budgeting, space considerations, moodboards, mockups and a united design plan.

Design development - floorplans, engineering and technical drawings, sourcing of everything to do with your project - from paint to textiles and furniture. Bespoke designs where there is a need or appetite.

Contract administration - competitive bids for items, delivery and pick-up schedule, overseeing decorating and install.

Bespoke furniture and joinery

Our process involves working closely with our carefully selected roster of makers, artists and designers who have honed their craft.

Together with clients and our makers we delight in the creative process of bringing ideas to life.

Rachel Chudley Colour

Whether subtle or bold, using colour in thoughtful and innovative ways is elemental to Rachel’s design approach.

The Rachel Chudley team believe colour is foundational to a room - whether that is the colour of walls, fabrics, art or objects.

Since inception, Rachel has worked with Donald Kaufman, the world’s foremost architectural colour consultant to produce exceptional paint colours.

These bespoke paint colours are designed, mixed and made for a given room or surface. They are what make RCID rooms sing.

When designing a paint colour, everything from how light hits it to the colour of the light itself and how it filters through is considered.

It is this level of detail that allows Rachel and her team to create colours that feel so appropriate to their spaces’ function, position and role.
